Blended Learning - if your child needs to self isolate and stay away from school, please follow the link below for the work your child's class teacher has set.

Knowledge organiser for our new topic 'Awesome Egyptians'. There is no homework over half term, please do encourage your child to have a look at the organiser to familiarise themselves with their new learning.

Thank you for supporting your children throughout the year with their homework.

There is no homework for next week, however do please encourage your child to read and practice timestable rockstars. Also take them along to their local library and register for the summer reading project.

Home Learning: 

 

This week’s home learning is to practise using nouns, adjectives and verbs correctly.  You need to write four common nouns beginning with S and write four proper nouns beginning with S. Look at the letters and think of an interesting adjective you can use to fit each letter e.g. I - intelligent. Finally, write an adverb for each of the verbs. The children have been sent home spellings today that focus on understanding and spelling the prefix 'mis', topic words and common exception words. We will have a spelling quiz for these on Thursday 17th December. 

 

Home Learning 

This week’s home learning is to practise using nouns, adjectives and verbs correctly.  You need to write four common nouns beginning with P and write four proper nouns beginning with P. Look at the letters and think of an interesting adjective you can use to fit each letter e.g. I - intelligent. Finally, circle the verbs and underline the adverbs in the sentences. The children have been sent home spellings today that focus on understanding and spelling the prefix 'dis', topic words and common exception words. We will have a spelling quiz for these on Friday 11th December.

You will then use a thesaurus and write next to each adjective two more. Then you are going to add a verb to complete the sentences. The children have been sent home spellings today that focus on understanding and spelling the 'ai' sound spelt 'eigh', topic words and common exception words. We will have a spelling quiz for these on Friday 27th November.

This week’s home learning is to practise using nouns, adjectives and verbs correctly. You are going to underline the nouns and adjectives. You will then write out 10 verbs. Challenge: Put your 10 verbs into sentences, maybe try and include some adjectives too!  The children have been sent home spellings today that focus on understanding and spelling the 'ai' sound spelt 'ei', topic words and common exception words. We will have a spelling quiz for these on Friday 20th November.

This week’s home learning is to practise using subordination. You are going to write 3 sentences using the pictures on the sheet, use the subordinations: if, when and because.  A subordinate clause has a subject and a verb, but it cannot stand alone as a complete sentence. Here is an example: If you win the award, I will be so happy.   The children have been sent home spellings today that focus on understanding and spelling the 'ai' and ‘ei’ sound, topic words and common exception words. Homework this will have a spelling quiz for these on Friday 13th November.

Home Learning

This week’s home learning is to practise writing and using different conjunctions. You are going to write all the conjunctions you can think of and then put them into sentences correctly. The challenge is to make sure you have some sentences with subordinating conjunctions, where they are at the beginning e.g. When the bus broke down it stopped/ The bus stopped when it broke down. 

 

The children have been sent home spellings today that focus on understanding and spell words ending in ‘tion’ and a list of common exception words and topic words. We will have a spelling quiz for these on Friday 23rd  October.

Home Learning:

This week’s home learning is to practise writing and using different adverbs. You are going to write all the adverbs you can think of and then put them into sentences correctly. The challenge is to choose one of your verbs and then write the past/ present/ future tense verb. E.g. Running – past tense is run. I am going to run quickly – future tense.  

 

The children have been sent home spellings today that focus on understanding and spelling homophones and near-homophones e.g. there/their and a list of common exception words and topic words. We will have a spelling quiz for these on Friday 16th  October.

 

Home Learning: 

 

This week’s home learning is to practise writing and using different verbs. You are going to write all the verbs you can think of and then put them into sentences correctly. The challenge is to choose one of your verbs and then write the past/ present/ future tense verb. E.g. Running – past tense is run. I am going to run – future tense.  

 

The children have been sent home spellings today that focus on understanding compound words e.g. superman and a list of common exception words and topic words. We will have a spelling quiz for these on Friday 9th  October.

 

Home Learning: 

 

This week’s home learning is to practise writing out the 10 times tables and then put them into word problems for them to solve e.g. 4 x 10 = 40, I had 4 groups and 10 apples in each so I have 40 apples altogether.

 

The children have been sent home spellings today that focus on understanding and spelling the  ‘zhur’ sound spelt as ‘s’ e.g. television and a list of common exception words and topic words. We will have a spelling quiz for these on Friday 2nd  October.

 

 

Home Learning:

This week’s home learning is to practise writing out the 5 times tables and then put them into word problems for them to solve e.g. 3 x 5 = 15, I had 3 groups and 5 apples in each so I have 15 apples altogether.  

The children have been sent home spellings today that focus on the suffixes ‘ful’ and ‘less’, a list of common exception words and topic words. We will have a spelling quiz for these on Friday 25th September.

This week’s home learning is to practise writing out the 2 times tables and then put them into word problems for them to solve e.g. 4 x2 = 8, I had 4 groups and 2 apples in each so I have 8 apples altogether.
