Pupils, families, community:
learning and working together

Head's welcome

The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it

J.M. Barrie 'Peter Pan'

Welcome to Rushy Meadow Primary Academy!

Rushy Meadow is a two-form-entry school with a small base for deaf pupils. We are located in a quiet, residential area of Carshalton, within the London Borough of Sutton. Our school is part of the Cirrus Primary Academy Trust.

For those of you new to Rushy Meadow, we look forward to welcoming you to the school and I hope that our website provides you with a comprehensive introduction to our values, expectations and way of working.

I am very proud to be the Headteacher, working alongside a dedicated and committed team of teachers, support staff and governors.  Above all, I feel privileged to be surrounded every day by enthusiastic, enquiring pupils.

Our mission at Rushy Meadow Primary Academy is to provide an environment where everyone feels part of a safe, secure, happy community.  Children’s curiosity and creativity is nurtured through an inspiring, broad and engaging curriculum.  Every day, children are challenged and encouraged to be independent learners, to be resilient and aspirational, so that they all reach their full potential.

Our vision is to create a school where our pupils flourish and are proud of their achievements.  We aim to instil in them a passion for learning that will empower them to become successful and to make positive contributions to the local community and beyond.

Our motto, pupils, families, community: learning and working together embodies everything that we strive to achieve.  The positive support of our parents and the wider community is very important to us all and we maintain an open and welcoming environment where we can work in partnership for the benefit of our pupils.
