Autumn 2 – Week 2
- Reading – Please ensure you have completed at least 4 boxes in your reading diary every week, that you have read with an adult at home at least once a week and that it is signed by an adult at home at the end of the week.
You can also visit the Oxford Owl website and listen to the audiobooks or read the ebooks that are there – see the letters that were sent out in July for the class logins.
2. TTRS – next week we will be focussing on the 7 and the 3 times tables. Please complete at least 20 minutes a week on Times Tables Rock Stars online. (If you do not have access to TTRS on a device at home, please let your class teacher know and they will print off a paper copy for you to complete. You will not need to hand this in)
3. Spellings – your spellings this week contain words spelt with a /shuhn/ sound spelt with 'ssion' (if root word ends in 'ss' or 'mit') We have sent 10 spellings with these rules for your child to practice and there will be a mini test on these next Friday. You do not need to hand these in

Autumn 2 – Week 1

3. Spellings – your spellings this week contain words with the suffix -sion with root words ending in ‘se’, ‘de’ or ‘d’ . We have sent 10 spellings with these rules for your child to practice and there will be a mini test on these next Friday. You do not need to hand these in.

- TTRS – next week we will be focussing on the 12 times tables. Please complete at least 20 minutes a week on Times Tables Rock Stars online. (If you do not have access to TTRS on a device at home, please let your class teacher know and they will print off a paper copy for you to complete. You will not need to hand this in).
The children will be completing their multiplication baseline assessments next week, please ensure you are spending at least 20 minutes every week on times tables as there is a multiplication check for every Year 4 child in England in the summer term – we will talk to you about this more at parent evening next week.

3. Spellings – your spellings this week contain words with the prefix ‘il-’ before a root word starting with ‘l’ and words with the prefix ‘ir-’ before a root word starting with ‘r’. We have sent 10 spellings with these rules for your child to practice and there will be a mini test on these next Friday. You do not need to hand these in.

4. Next week, we will be selecting 2 children to be our Pupil Parliament members. The children will be asked to speak to their class about the following 2 statements:
This school is a special place because...
I would like to be on Pupil Parliament because...
Please speak with your child this weekend so that they are ready to finish these statements if they would like to be considered.

We will update this page each week with our weekly home learning task and our weekly spellings. We will also be asking you to complete 20 minutes of Times Tables Rock Stars at home each week. If you do not have a device to practice on at home, please can you let your class teacher know and we will send home a paper copy each week for you!
